The Turf and Seeding Department works with a variety of grasses and sod types to best suit the needs of the situation.  Services include soil fertility analysis and nutrient management.  Crossing the spectrum from large commercial jobs, to sports turf, to residential jobs, Master Landscape Inc. covers all the bases of turf grass application.  This includes native grass seeding, sodding, and disturbed soil seeding.  Athletic fieldwork encompasses a wide range from seeding of roughs, fairways, tees, and greens, to drainage and sand trap construction and renovation.  In order to properly seed, Master Landscape Inc. utilizes a Lely Roterra and a Land Pride Seeder, both of which are qualified machines, and necessary to achieve an outstanding end product.  This department works closely with the maintenance department for detection and correction of turf problems.

Turf Grass

Four-Step Organic Lawn Care Program

Step One:  This is to be applied in March*.  Not only does step one include organic fertilizer which has pre-emergent properties, but also it includes an application of compost tea.

Step Two:  This is to be applied in May*.  This includes an organic fertilizer and an optional application of compost tea.

Step Three:  This is to be applied from late August through late September*.  This includes an organic fertilizer that also acts like a pre-emergent herbicide. Additionally it includes an application of compost tea.

Step Four:  This is to be applied from mid October to mid November*.  This includes an organic fertilizer and an optional application of compost tea.

Compost Tea Application:  Compost tea is applied by spraying it onto plant surfaces or on the surface of surrounding soil.  Regular use of compost tea will reduce the need for fertilizers, reduce the amount of watering and will result in a healthier plant that is less susceptible to attack from disease and insects.

*The application dates vary due to growing conditions.  Applications are timed with the weather to meet the demands of the turf and to have the greatest impact in preventing insects and weeds.
