4-STEP ORGANIC LAWN CARE PROGRAM

 

  • Step One:  Applied in March*, this includes an organic fertilizer that also acts like a pre-emergent herbicide, and an application of compost tea.
  • Step Two:  Applied in May*, this includes an organic fertilizer, and an optional application of compost tea.
  • Step Three:  Applied from late August through late September*, this includes an organic fertilizer that also acts like a pre-emergent herbicide, and an application of compost tea.
  • Step Four:  Applied from mid-October through mid-November*, this includes an organic fertilizer, and an optional application of compost tea.

 

What is Compost Tea?

Compost tea is a solution made from organic materials that are brewed with water in the same process of making tea that one would drink. This tea is sprayed onto the lawn or plant surfaces in order to introduce beneficial natural organisms to plants and the soil surrounding them. Regular use of compost tea will reduce the need for fertilizers and amount of watering, and will result in a healthier plant that is less susceptible to attack from disease and insects.


*Application dates vary due to growing conditions. Applications are timed with the weather to meet the demands of the turf and to have the greatest impact in preventing insects and weeds.
