Small Space - Big Change
This space was the Cook Family's only back yard space available. This design utilized all of their space in a thoughtful way while preserving their privacy.

It was a dream of these homeowners to eliminate turfgrass in their yard. By using Calamagrostis grass and some native plantings we were able to make that dream come true!

Front Yard Solution
This beautiful older home had no front entrance. With no grass in the back yard to mow, the homeowner decided to do away with the front yard mowing also. Instead we constructed a flagstone entrance, privacy wall and custom iron gate designed from a floral print the customer loved.

MAKEOVER
The great potential for this home's entrance was literally "lost" due to the overgrown plant material. The view from inside and the front sitting area was all but blocked off before a more fitting landscape plan was implemented. Landscape continuity was created by establishing long undulating beds that tied the different spaces together. Limestone steppers provide access through the landscape and to the stone stairs constructed with the new retaining wall.

A heavily shaded back yard encouraged these homeowners to try something new. A limestone retaining wall with steps was integrated to provide a level area to grow grass and shade-loving plants were installed to adorn the landscape floor.

Large Retaining Wall made of local limestone
The view from the deck of this home only improved after a large retaining wall was constructed. The natural limestone wall provides functional space above and blends nicely with the native surroundings.
